Each edition is 90% hand-painted with Shizico’s hand mixed oil, gesso, and acrylic—every colour hand-mixed, every surface individually worked, signed, and numbered by the artist. No two editions are the same; each is a semi-original.

About the painting
With her unique, confident and expressive brushstrokes, Yi captured the essence of an imaginary cottage garden, her painting beyond mere landscape but a door invites viewers to dream.
At the heart of the scene is an idyllic garden where rare lemon trees—uncommon in the British landscape—flourish beside iconic English roses. This whimsical pairing is a tribute blending the familiar with the fantastical.
In her own words:
Using soft brushwork and a gentle palette, I aimed to evoke the simple pleasures of nature: the scent of blossoms, the warmth of spring sunlight, and the quiet contentment of a peaceful garden moment shared over cream tea.
I wanted this painting to capture the tranquil charm of an English cottage garden. Commissioned by Creammm.t, a prestigious artisan bakery in Taiwan, the painting was created for their latest packaging design featuring their signature scones and lemon tarts. The concept was to celebrate the spirit of English teatime traditions through a scene of both delicacy and delight.
Ultimately, I wish the painting invites you to pause—to find stillness, beauty, fun and everyday joy.”

With design and film background, Shizico combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large.
Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK 2017; she had completed a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL. London. She is also the Winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013 Los Angels. USA.
