2024, Shizico Yi takes on an innovative project she named it "The Weaver," inspired by the heritage of family's Tartan, the rich lineage and history of the Clan.
Within the patterns of family Tartan, Shizico weaves flora Camellias and the timeless essence of Tartan into a dance of the abstraction and realism. Camellias, known for their delicate and luxurious blooms, emerge around Christmas and persist through into the early spring, heralding the vibrant colours of the season yet to come.
Through her artistry, Shizico incorporates the hidden Tartan motifs beneath layers of vibrant paints, seamlessly blending memories of the past ( the tartans) with the vivid reality of the present ( the floras). Each pair of the canvases become a harmonious visual symphony where the past and present converge like a duet of abstract and realism. The use of formation of diptychs further amplifies Shizico's artistic Duet musical dialogue; "The Weaver" inviting viewers into a world where memory and present interweaving in a mesmerizing display of visual creativity.

-Each canvas board measured 40 cm H x30cm W, when lined up side by side, the diptych is measured 40 x 60 cm.
